Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, who has represented Illinois’ 8th district since 2017, recently shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets. Krishnamoorthi, known for his advocacy in public health and equality, expressed opinions on leadership within the FBI, the regulation of nicotine products by the FDA, and the anniversary of a significant legislative act.

On December 12, 2024, Congressman Krishnamoorthi commented on changes in FBI leadership. He stated, "I may not have always agreed with FBI Director Christopher Wray, but I never questioned whether he knew that his responsibility was to serve the American people rather than just the president. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Donald Trump’s choice to replace him."

On December 13, 2024, he expressed support for new FDA initiatives aimed at regulating nicotine products. Krishnamoorthi tweeted, "As someone who has been fighting for limits on nicotine products for years, I’m excited to see the FDA is finally moving forward on plans to combat this highly addictive and dangerous chemical."

Later that day, Krishnamoorthi celebrated an important milestone in marriage equality legislation. He remarked on social media: "Two years ago today, @POTUS signed the #RespectForMarriageAct into law, codifying the right to marriage equality nationwide. As a Vice Chair of the @EqualityCaucus, I am proud to celebrate this historic anniversary."
