Ascension, a prominent non-profit Catholic health system in the United States, has announced a leadership change within its managed care division. Michael McMillan, who has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Managed Care Officer, will leave his position on March 3, 2025. His career at Ascension has been marked by significant contributions to the organization's managed care strategy.

McMillan's tenure was characterized by his focus on contract negotiations, innovative payment models, and value-based initiatives. Under his guidance, Ascension improved relationships with health plans and developed sustainable value-based payment strategies. His efforts have had a notable impact on patients and providers within the healthcare system.

On December 2, 2024, Todd Moore assumed the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Managed Care Officer at Ascension. Moore joins from Mayo Clinic where he held the position of Chair for Revenue Strategy & Innovation. His responsibilities included overseeing strategic revenue growth and managing payer contracting across various services. Moore holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois.

Saurabh Tripathi, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ascension stated: “We are immensely grateful for Michael’s visionary contributions to Ascension. His work has laid the foundation for innovative managed care solutions that will benefit our ministry for years to come. At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Todd Moore, whose exceptional experience and leadership will help us build on this legacy.”

The transition between McMillan and Moore is planned to be smooth with both working closely together during this period.
