Test expectations: How many students met or exceeded ELA IAR expectations in East Maine School District 63 in 2022-23 school year?

In the 2022-23 school year, 32.2% of the students in East Maine School District 63 passed the ELA portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 2,059 students in East Maine School District 63 who took the ELA portion of the test, approximately 663 (32.2%) passed.

The percentage of East Maine School District 63 students who met or exceeded expectations on the IAR increased by 1.9% compared to the previous school year.

East Maine School District 63 roughly covers seven schools within Cook County and has a main office in Des Plaines.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) assesses the progress of students in grades 3-8 in meeting the Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts and mathematics.

According to the 2024 Illinois Report Card, math proficiency among Illinois students in grades 3-8 remains below pre-pandemic levels, while reading performance has recovered. Meanwhile, 11th graders have experienced significant declines in both subjects, falling below pre-pandemic benchmarks.
