Village of South Barrington Police Commission met June 27

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

CALL TO ORDER 

Chairwoman Carse called the meeting to order at 1:55 P.M. 

ROLL CALL 

Members Present: 

Staff Present: 

Chairwoman Dr. Shireesha Carse, Commissioner Kenneth Michonski 

Deputy Chief Mike Garrison 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

Chairwoman Carse invited members of the public to address the committee. Hearing none, the meeting proceeded with the published agenda items. 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

Chairwoman Carse asked if there were minutes to approve. Commissioner Michonski made a motion to approve both the open and closed minutes from June 5, 2024. Seconded by Chairwoman Carse. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 

OLD BUSINESS 

Chairwoman Carse asked if there was any old business to discuss. Hearing none, the meeting proceeded with the published agenda items. 

NEW BUSINESS 

Deputy Chief Garrison stated there would be three interviews for police officers today. The Commissioners prepared for the interviews. 

EXECUTIVE SESSION to consider Appointment, Employment and Compensation Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(1). 

Commissioner Michonski made a motion to go into executive session for the purposes of conducting interviews with the police candidates at 1:57 P.M. Seconded by Chairwoman Carse. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 

At 4:06 P.M., Commissioner Michonski made a motion to close executive session and move into open session. Chairwoman Carse seconded. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 

OTHER BUSINESS 

Chairwoman Carse asked if there was any other business to discuss. Hearing none, they moved to adjourn the meeting. 

ADJOURNMENT 

Commissioner Michonski made a motion to adjourn the Police Commission meeting at 4:07 P.M. Seconded by Chairwoman Carse. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
