Michele Hunter, a candidate for the 54th State Representative, has announced her inaugural fundraiser for the 2024 election cycle. Hunter invited supporters to join her on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Palm Court for an evening dedicated to rallying support for her campaign.

Hunter's objective is to rally support for her bid to represent the 54th District in the State House. She extends an invitation to the community to attend the event and learn about her vision and strategic plan.

"The race is on to take back our district from left-wing Democrat rule and I look forward to sharing my vision and plan of action with you," Hunter said on Facebook.

The event, described as a reception for the 54th State Representative candidate, will be held at Palm Court, located at 1912 N Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. Attendees are expected to contribute $75 per person or $125 per couple. Precinct Captains are offered a discounted rate of half-price. Hunter's campaign also provides sponsorship opportunities at various levels: Platinum - $5,000, Gold - $2,500, Silver - $1,000, Bronze - $500. Raised in a small Iowa town where she worked in her family’s gift shop and coffee café, Hunter graduated near the top of her class from both undergraduate and law school at the University of Iowa. She subsequently spent fifteen years as a law clerk with the Second District Appellate Court. As a legislator, she intends to utilize her legal expertise—including reading and analyzing legislation—to advocate for her constituents and address community issues. Beyond her legal career, Hunter is also a published author who has worked for a marketing firm in Chicago; she holds licenses as a Foster Caregiver and Adoptive Parent and actively supports animal welfare organizations, including Bombshell Bullies, as per her website.

Hunter is challenging incumbent State Rep. Mary Beth Canty (D-Arlington Heights) for the seat. Canty is also seeking reelection to represent the 54th District, which encompasses Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Prospect Heights, Wheeling, Mount Prospect and Palatine, according to Canty.
