A. Renewal of a Property Insurance Program for the Period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 ($720,140)

      Objective: Protect the city’s financial resources and provide business interruption insurance.

Special Presentations and Reports

B. Sikich, LLC Audit Presentation

      Objective: Sikich, LLP, Director Tom Siwicki will be discussing the city of Elgin’s 2022 Annual Consolidated Financial Report.

C. Continued Discussion on Project Timeline for New Trash Collection, Recycling Pickup and Organics Composting Contract Beginning in January 2025

      Objective: The city’s current waste hauler contract expires at the end of next year. Staff will be introducing a survey to collect resident feedback on current and future uses of curbside waste, recycling, and organics collection. Data collected through the survey will guide the creation of the request for proposals for trash collection, recycling pickup and organics composting beginning in January 2025.

D. Approve Agreement with Fly by Chicago to Provide a Drone Show as Part of the End of Summer Bash ($40,000)

      Objective: Provide Elgin residents and visitors with the city’s first drone show during the “End of Summer Bash.”

E. Amendment No. 3 to Engineering Services Agreement with Strand Associates, Inc. for Treatment Facility Engineering Projects ($18,000)

      Objective: Contract for engineering services needed to evaluate, design and provide construction services related to facility improvements at various utility department facilities including the Leo Nelson Riverside and Airlite Water Treatment Plants.

F. Review of City Council Rules of Procedure

      Objective: Review city council rules of procedure as required by ordinance.
