Wisconsin countered and stretched its lead to 48-43 heading into the fourth. Northwestern played well near the basket, scoring 10 of its 17 points in the paint.
Wisconsin kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 56-48 advantage before Northwestern went on an 8-0 run, finished off by Caroline Lau's jumper, to even the score at 56 all with 2:35 to go in the contest. The Wildcats could not turn their rally into a victory, however, as the Badgers outscored them 8-1 the rest of the way to hand Northwestern the 64-57 loss.
