Burd, Stewart With Electrifying Dunks Amidst Second Half Run in 73-70 Loss to Calumet
The Lindner Fitness Center crowd was on its feet during a pair of electrifying dunks in the second half in a 73-70 loss to Calumet. Isiah Burd leaped from near the free-throw line following an outlet pass from Anterrious Rhyan. Less than a minute later, Sam Stewart tip-jammed one home following a Burd shot attempt. These dunks propelled a 7-2 run to give the Eagles a brief lead in the second half. Calumet scored five of the game's final seven points to pull away in the end.
Jack Keller was the Eagles' high scorer with 15 points and he added seven rebounds, two steals and an assist. Rhyan nearly recorded a double-double with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals. Burd had 14 points (including a perfect 4-4 from the line) and four rebounds off the bench. Leonard Wilson scored 11 points with four rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
"We had two good looks to tie the game on our last play and they didn't fall," said Head Coach Bruce Fields. "Transition buckets and offensive rebounds were the keys to why we weren't successful tonight."
Judson (5-18, 3-12 CCAC) heads to St. Ambrose on Saturday.
