Northwestern welcomes one of the most competitive fields in women's college golf to Exmoor Country Club on Chicago's north shore for the 2022 Windy City Collegiate Classic. Round 1 begins at 7:30am CT on Monday, October 3, and the event is open to the public and admission is free.

THE 'CATS
As the hosts, head coach Emily Fletcher and assistant Beth Miller will have the opportunity to play their entire healthy roster this week, with Kelly Sim, Lauryn Nguyen, Dianna Lee, Jennifer Cai and Charlotte Hillary representing the 'Cats in the 5-count-4 team championship format, and Rachel DeAngulo and Irene Kim playing as individuals with eyes on medialist honors.
THE COMPETITION
The Windy City College Classic has rapidly become one of the best tournament's of the fall season in women's college golf. This weeks' field features five of the Top-9 teams in the country, and ten of the nation's Top-30 programs according to the most recent Golfweek NCAA Women's Golf Team Rankings. Northwestern welcomes #4 Texas, #5 Virginia, #6 South Carolina, #7 Duke, #9 Oregon, #11 Arizona, #13 Florida, #18 Arizona State, #26 Michigan State, #28 Michigan, Iowa State, Purdue, Southern California and Washington to Chicagoloand.
THE COURSE
Exmoor Country Club was founded in 1896 by William A. Alexander as Illinois' third golf club. The Club has promoted tournament golf at the highest competitive level, hosting 18 national championships since 1903 – all organized with the United States Golf Association, the Western Golf Association, the Women's Western Golf Association and the PGA of America. In 2018, it hosted the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship, won by Vijay Singh in a sudden-death playoff.

THE LAYOUT
The Windy City Championship tees will stretch Exmoor Country Club out to 6,442 yards over a Par-72 round. The front-nine plays out in 3,229, while the back comes in at 3,213, with a perfect balance of two Par-3's and two Par-5's on each side of the course. No. 1 is the longest hole on the loop, a 507-yard Par-5.

Tuesday: Intervals of clouds and sunshine, high around 70, winds light and variable.
THE HISTORY
Stanford took the 2021 Windy City Classic team title at Westmoreland Country Club, led by superstar rookie Rose Zhang who won medalist honors, her second consecutive victory to open her college career. In 2019, South Carolina won the team championship at Glen View Club, paced by individual winner Pauline Roussin-Bouchard.
