City of Prospect Heights Fire/Police Commission met May 31.

CALL TO ORDER – At 4:08 PM, Chairman Hoffman called to order the Special Meeting of the Fire Police Commission at City Hall, 8 N Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ROLL CALL – Deputy Clerk Schultheis called roll. A quorum was present.
SIONERS PRESENT – Chairman Hoffman, Commissioners – Riebman, Fiorito.
OTHER OFFICIALS PRESENT - Deputy Clerk Schultheis, Police Chief Caponigro, Deputy Chief Derman
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - A.Approval of the Regular April 27, 2022 Meeting Minutes - Commissioner Fiorito moved to Approve the April 27, 2022 Regular Meeting Minutes as presented; seconded by Commissioner Riebman. There was unanimous approval.

CLOSED SESSION - None
NEW BUSINESS - A.Reappointment of Commissioner Fiorito - Deputy Clerk Schultheis noted that the City Council had approved the reappointment of Commissioner Fiorito to the Fire Police Commission at the May 23, 2022 City Council Meeting. Chairman Hoffman moved to approve the reappointment of Commissioner Fiorito to the Fire Police Commission; seconded by Commissioner Riebman. There was unanimous approval.

Chief Caponigro said that there are 38 candidates for the police testing on June 18th at MacArthur Middle School. IOS is currently screening the applicants. Acting Mayor Dolick will speak at the Orientation before the test between 9:30 and 9:45 AM. The written test will begin at 10 AM.
- Deputy Chief Derman spoke about the Community Day event on Saturday, June 4. He said that the Police Department would sponsor a scavenger hunt and that there would be goody bags for the children. There would also be police vehicles and McGruff the Crime Dog. -he noted that the Torch Run to benefit the Special Olympics will go down Milwaukee Avenue, -Run and Rock the Runway on June 25 will feature fireworks and a live band.

DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES/CORRESPONDENCE - Chief Caponigro said that the City has sworn in a new police officer, She is a lateral candidate that speaks Polish. He noted that the lateral candidate loved the twelve hour shifts.

The Next Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 4 PM, City Hall, 8 North Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ADJOURNMENT – At 4:17 PM, Chairman Hoffman moved to Adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Riebman. There was unanimous approval.
