Village of Arlington Heights Senior Citizens’ Commission met June 15

Village of Arlington Heights Senior Citizens’ Commission met June 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

I. Call to Order

a. Sharon Adams, Tem Williams, Fred Vogt, and Senior Center Manager, Tracey Colagrossi

II. Approval of Minutes

a. Minutes of the May 4, meeting was reviewed. Sharon Adams made a motion to approve, seconded by Tem Williams. All were in favor.

III. Reports

a. Nominee Review:

i. Tracey Colagrossi distributed the nominations of eight candidates with the names redacted to remain anonymous. Each commissioner received eight rubric sheets to coincide with the nominations.

ii. The commissioners agreed to review and score each nominee and give the results to Tracey Colagrossi on Monday, June 20.

iii. Tracey Colagrossi, will then tabulate the results and have it available for the next scheduled meeting on June 27 at 6:15 to discuss.

b. Award Statement

i. The statement on the award is tabled until the June 27 meeting when the candidate selection is finalized.

c. Event Plan

i. Sharon Adams noted that the plan of events are as follows;

1. After the selection of the Kenneth Hood Sub Committee meeting,

Fred Vogt will present the recommendation to the Commission at the 7 PM meeting on June 27.

2. A Kenneth Hood Sub Committee member will contact the award winner.

3. Tracey will work with Administration to add the awards presentation to the August or September Village Board Agenda.

4. The winner will be announced and publicized through various media outlets.

5. The Sub Committee will send out invitations for the award presentation event.

6. Award and reception to take place at a future date.

IV. Old Business

a. No old business was discussed

V. New Business

b. No new business was discussed.

V. Adjournment

a. Meeting adjourned at 3:00PM. Motion made by Sharon Adams, seconded by Tem Williams.
