Analysis: Mount Prospect administrators rank 171st in state for average pay

Administrators in Mount Prospect School District 57 earn an average of $120,288 per year, ranking 171st out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 2.2 percent lower than in 2016 and 10.6 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 8.1 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Mount Prospect School District in Cook County enrolled 2319 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 178 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
