Report: Wilmette School District spent $16,963 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Wilmette School District 39 was up 14.6 percent from five years ago, according to the North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $14,804 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,963 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 3,740 to 3,514 students over the same period.

Wilmette's spending in 2019-20 was 17.1 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
