Judson University issued the following announcement on Oct. 26

Helping put their team in contention for the league title with a pair of wins during the seven-day period from Oct. 18-24, Judson University's Josett Perez and Marissa Fetters also enabled the Eagle program to sweep Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Perez claimed the offensive recognition by providing the game-winning goal in each of the two victories, a 6-0 win over Indiana University South Bend last Wednesday and a 2-1 nod over Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday.  The attempts were the only shots on goal for the junior forward.

"Josett has adapted into an impactful player for us," said Head Coach Diego Cevallos. "She has taken her game to a new level and scored some great goals for us this season, including three straight games with winning goals. I'm so proud of her hard work and this recognition for her.

Fetters, meanwhile, collected her second CCAC Defensive Player of the Week award after making ten saves over the two matches.  Nine of the senior goalkeeper's stops came in the first-place showdown with Cardinal Stritch.

"Marissa has been a huge impacting player this season for us," said Cevallos. "She has been a key player in tight games and has made great saves. We feel safe and secure with her in the back and I'm glad she gets the recognition that she deserves. She is one of the best GKs in the league."

The two victories put the Eagles in a four-way tie for first place with Cardinal Stritch, Holy Cross College and St. Ambrose University.  All four have totaled 25 points with just one week remaining in the regular season. Judson currently holds the tiebreaker and controls their own destiny to winning the conference and earning an NAIA berth. The Eagles are 10-4-1 overall and 8-2-1 in conference play, with a huge game on Tuesday against St. Francis beginning at 2:00 p.m.
