Prospect Heights Natural Resources Commission recently issued the following announcement.

When:     Wednesday, September 1st, 2021.  5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

Where:    Izaak Walton sign at Elmhurst and Hillside (See map below)

What:      First Seed collection of the year!

September is here and just in time for our First Seed Collection Wednesday of 2021. Tonight we will be at the Izaak Walton sign on the  corner of Hillside Avenue and Elmhurst Road collecting seed from the riparian buffers behind the sign and on Hillside to the east. The temperature will be a prefect 65° with no chance of rain and an increased chance of a beautiful sunset. Long pants and sleeves are a good idea with all the 'skeeters around.

Seed collection is a communal event and the best way to catch up with your fellow volunteers and meet new ones! If you have never volunteered and always wanted to, this is the perfect way to start. We will supply all tools, instructions, supervision, bug spray and water. Parking is on Hillside facing Elmhurst Road.

Please visit our website at How to volunteer, to learn more about the Volunteer program. New to the program? Download our volunteer waiver and bring it with you here.

Information about specific work days is sent out to volunteers by email. To receive the work day notices and our Resources Journal, please subscribe here.

Those under 18 need to have written parental permission or supervision. Hazardous weather cancels any event and our Work Day email notices will alert you to a cancellation.
