Illinois Republican Party issued the following announcement on July 20
Critical Race Theory is the most dangerous ideology being spread in America today. It presents the notion that people are inherently racist and divides people into two unalterable groups: oppressed and oppressor. The ILGOP is against this racist ideology that teaches children that White Supremacy permeates every institution in America and that their white classmates are inherently racist.

The left is making it no secret that they want to target our most vulnerable populations with CRT. And they’re starting with our children.
In America, public school should be a place where children are judged strictly on their academic merit and where equality of opportunity is enforced.
Allowing Critical Race Theory to be taught in our schools means allowing oppressive and political language into what should be an unbiased, nonpartisan place.
It serves NO ONE to teach children a racist world view.
Critical Race Theory aims to DIVIDE Americans by race. The GOP wants to UNITE Americans of all races and classes to form a more perfect Union.
