Hanover FPD responds to 14 fires in 2018

Hanover Fire Protection Department responded to 18 calls in 2018 - same as the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hanover included 14 fires - four structure fires, one vehicle fire and nine other fires.

In all, the department saw $13,500 in fire loss - or about $964 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Hanover Park Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 35 active employees and 34 retired or inactive employees, was $746,997 positive as of December 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $67,909 for every fire in 2017.
