NORTHBROOK PARK DISTRICT: Step Into the Spotlight At Northbrook Theatre This Autumn

Zach2

Northbrook Park District issued the following announcement on Sept. 11.

From Pod Plays and a virtual show to physically distanced live performances, Northbrook Theatre is offering a creative lineup of performing arts programming this autumn!

Among live productions is the hilarious and clever Northbrook Theatre Youth Company show We Are Monsters, set to be performed October 30 at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome in Meadowhill Park. Northbrook Theatre is also offering Pod Plays, allowing school groups to choose a play to rehearse and perform within the comfort of their own pods. A Theatrical Makeup Workshop is also available in which participants learn to create a variety of characters just in time for Halloween.

“I am very excited about the amount of programming we are offering this fall” said Drew Kambach, Performing Arts Supervisor. “Pod Plays is something I am especially looking forward to because actors and the director work together to produce a play they choose.”

Virtual programming includes a second Northbrook Theatre Youth Company production of Super Awesome Happy News. Private performing arts lessons are also available, with both in-person and virtual options.

“We carefully planned activities and productions to be able meet a wide range of participants at whatever their comfort level is at the moment,” Kambach said. “The biggest differences for our in-person production of We Are Monsters this fall will be that participants will wear face coverings and the final performance will be presented outdoors so family and friends can watch the culmination of all the actors’ hard work.”
