EAST MAINE SCHOOL DISTRICT 63: Meal Pickup for Children 18 and Younger

East Maine School District 63 recently issued the following announcement.

Free Meals For Children Aged 18 and Younger Living in District 63

Through Wednesday, December 16

Children do not have to attend D63 schools.

Due to a recent change in programming and funding provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, D63 is once again  providing free meals each week for any child in the community aged 18 and younger.

Mondays & Wednesdays

9 am - 12:30 pm

Gemini Middle School

8955 Greenwood Avenue, Niles

Two days-worth of meals will be provided on Mondays; meals for three days will be provided on Wednesdays.

Please note:  there will be no meal pickup on Monday, September 7 due to Labor Day. Instead there will be a special pickup on Tuesday, September 8 - one day's worth of meals will be distributed at this time. Three days' worth of meals will be distributed on Wednesday, September 9.

  • P arents and community members may pick up  breakfasts and lunches for each member of the household age 18 or younger.
  • Pickup process
    • PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 9 AM FOR THE CAR LINE. We need time to set up our process and equipment.
    • Enter the parking lot off of Greenwood, south of the school building.
    • Do not get out of your car.
    • Turn left in the parking lot and drive north along the building to Door # 1 (the front of the building).
    • Tell waiting staff through your car window how many children under 18 in your household. On Monday, you will be given two days worth of breakfast and lunch for children under 18. On Wednesday , you will be given three days worth of meals.
    • Open the trunk of your car. The meals will be placed in it.
    • Once you have your meals, exit the parking lot onto Ballard.

Free Meals for Children 18 Years and Under Living in District 63

Due to a recent change in programming and funding provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, D63 is once again offering free meals each week to any child in the community ages 18 and under.

Mondays and Wednesdays

9 am - 12:30 pm

Gemini Middle School

8955 Greenwood Avenue, Niles

Two days of meals will be provided on Mondays; meals for three  days will be provided on Wednesdays.

Please note: There will be no food drive on Monday September 7th due to Labor Day. Instead, there will be a special pickup on Tuesday, September 8 - in which food will be distributed for Tuesday and Wednesday, September 9, where you will receive meals for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week.

  • Parents and community members can pick up breakfast and lunch for each household member age 18 and under.
  • Process of receiving meals
    • PLEASE WE ASK YOU NOT TO ARRIVE BEFORE 9 AM  We need time to install our process and equipment.
    • Enter the parking lot through the Greenwood entrance on the south side of the college.
    • Please do not get out of your car.
    • As you enter the parking lot, turn left and drive north of the building, to door number 1 (located at the main entrance at the front of the building).
    • Tell the waiting staff how many children under the age of 18 live in your home. On Monday , you will receive breakfast and lunch for two days for each child. On Wednesday, you will receive breakfast and lunch for three days.
    • Open the trunk of your car. Meals will be put there.
    • When you receive your meals, please exit the parking lot on Ballard Street.
