Analysis: Barrington pays $5.74 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Barrington Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.2 percent of the $1,406,359 the Barrington Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.74 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Barrington contributed $1,197,875 to the fund, which saw a $17,253 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $208,463, or 14.8 percent, in 2018. Another $21 came from other unspecified sources.
