The Serve Illinois Commission is now seeking volunteers interested in becoming AmeriCorps peer reviewers for the 2020-2021 funding cycle.
“If you or anyone you know would like to give back to the community, this is a wonderful opportunity that can be accomplished from the comfort of your own home,” Serve Illinois Commissioner Char Foss-Eggemann said in a press release.
Peer reviewers aid the commission in determining programming for the year by working to review up to five grants over a two-month period beginning in February, ultimately submitting scores to the Serve Illinois Commission for further review. Over time, reviewers will also learn more about both programming and the grant-making process.

Later this month, the commission is slated to host a webinar training session on the review and scoring process in which “volunteers of all backgrounds and from all locations around the state are welcome and encouraged to help,” according to the release.
