The Republicans of Maine Township are encouraging people to turn out in support of Cook County Board Commissioner Dan Patlak on July 13 as he and Team Patlak take part in the 9th Annual A Safe Haven 5K run in Chicago.
Held at Montrose Harbor Grove 16, this year's event marks the fifth time Republicans of Maine Township have supported Team Patlak, with the team having raised more than $10,000 so far, all of which went toward programs assisting veterans. A Safe Haven Foundation is a local charity that assists in the recovery and rehabilitation of needy veterans with the goal of ending veteran homelessness.
Festivities kick off at 8:30 a.m., and the day will also feature a free Kids Fun Run.
