The data shows that 20 men and four women were released in Wheeling. The median age of the parolees was 31. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 50-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kristen M. Leonard. She was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2015 when he was 32 years old. She is now 36.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
