lieutenant governor candidate Matt Murphy returns $500 contribution from McGuireWoods Consulting , LLC

The campaign committee of lieutenant governor candidate Matt Murphy, Citizens for Matt Murphy, returned a $500 contribution from McGuireWoods Consulting , LLC on Oct. 17, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. McGuireWoods Consulting , LLC has not made any other contributions to Matt Murphy in the past 12 months.
