Report: Avoca spent $20,592 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Avoca School District 37 is up 9.5 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $18,810 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $20,592 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 711 to 741.

Avoca's spending in 2017-18 was 54.4 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
