Schaumburg to elect village president, 3 board members in consolidated elections

Schaumburg

Schaumburg residents will decide who will serve as village president in the coming months as the next cycle of local elections unfolds.

Current Village President Alan Larson has yet to decide if he'll seek re-election.

Residents also will vote on three village board seats. The incumbent trustees in those positions are Tom Dailly, George Dunham and Mark Madej.

Primary elections for consolidated races begin on Feb. 26. Residents who want to run in the primary must file their nominating petitions by Nov. 26. The local election board determines the number of signatures required to earn a spot on the ballot.

If no candidate earns a majority of the vote in the primary, a runoff between the two highest vote-getters will take place on April 2.

Those running for local offices typically must have lived in the jurisdiction for at least one year and not be in debt to the municipality. In addition, those who have been convicted of a felony are not allowed to run.
