Basketball stars Ciaran Braboy and Spencer Boehm headlined a group of 23 New Trier High School sports stars who recently took part in the school’s Fall College Signing Ceremony, a day of recognition set aside for Trevians athletes who plan to continue playing a sport at the collegiate level.
The 6'9" Braboy has signed to attend Harvard, while the 6'8" Boehm is set on attending Washington University.
According to the school's website, other Trevians athletes taking part in the festivities included Duke Olges, who has signed to play football at Northwestern, and Henry Pelinski, who will pay baseball at Emory University.
In all, six New Trier athletes who plan to compete in lacrosse were feted, along with four rowers, three volleyball players, two field hockey players and one athlete each from track, swimming, soccer and tennis.
With Coach Scott Fricke’s lineup not featuring a starter shorter than 6'5", big things are expected from the Trevians hoops team this season.
Boehm averaged 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds last season for New Trier, which finished 25-6 overall and 8-2 in the Central Suburban South.
