How much has Palatine CCSD 15 overspent over the past 10 years?

Palatine Community Consolidated School District 15 accumulated $11.90 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a North Cook News analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Palatine CCSD 15 reported 21.3 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 28.8 percent. The resulting deficit grew by 1,944.9 percent from 2008 to 2017.
