Hanover CFPD responds to 11 fires in 2017

Hanover Central Fire Protection District responded to 18 calls in 2017 - 100 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hanover included 11 fires - four structure fires, one vehicle fire and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $9,100 in fire loss - or about $827 per fire.

The department also received seven false calls.

The Hanover Park Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 36 active employees and 33 retired or inactive employees, was $244,777 positive as of December 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $40,796 for every fire in 2016.
