Report: Wilmette spent $14,658 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Wilmette School District 39 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $13,606 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,658 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3732 to 3691.

Wilmette's spending in 2016-17 was 13 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
