Analysis: Northbrook pays $2.47 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Northbrook Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 71.2 percent of the $2,196,662 the Northbrook Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.47 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Northbrook contributed $1,565,117 to the fund, which saw a $159,727 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $631,545, or 28.8 percent, in 2016.
