Ted Dabrowski is set to announce his candidacy for Illinois governor on Friday, September 12, with a campaign emphasizing change, results, and restoring the state's leadership for families and businesses. This information was revealed in a press release.

According to the release, Dabrowski will formally launch his gubernatorial campaign on September 12, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. Central time. The event will take place at a private residence in Wilmette, Illinois, and will be streamed live on Facebook.

Dabrowski has expressed concerns regarding Illinois's recent tax and wage mandates as president of Wirepoints. In June 2025, during an appearance on Chicago’s Morning Answer, he criticized the city's decision to increase tipped wages starting July 1. He warned that such policies might lead to the closure of long-established institutions. Dabrowski cited the Gail Street Inn's closure after more than five decades as indicative of broader economic consequences from regulatory overreach.

Dabrowski's professional experience includes over 30 years in international finance and domestic public policy. He previously served as Head of Corporate Banking at Citibank in Poland, advising government leaders on market liberalization and managing multi-billion-dollar Treasury operations in both Poland and Mexico. Upon returning to Illinois, he held leadership roles at the Illinois Policy Institute and later Wirepoints, a nonprofit policy organization. His work has been featured in national outlets such as The Wall Street Journal. Dabrowski holds advanced degrees from the University of Chicago and the Wharton School.
