Most frugal cities in North Suburbs

Budget 04

Village of Inverness, City of Prospect Heights and Village of Vermont top the list in North Suburbs with the lowest spending per capita in 2017, Illinois State Comptroller financial reports show.

State law requires local governments to self-report financial records each year, including revenue, spending and debt. Municipal spending per capita is calculated to compare budget habits across cities and villages.
