Des Plaines schools district celebrates efforts of principals, assistant principals

In celebration of National Principals Month, Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines is formally thanking principals and assistant principals across its 11 schools for their dedication to public education, according to a press release.

Floyd Williams Jr., superintendent of the schools, said the district values their commitment to the students.

“Each of these instructional leaders have embraced the district’s priorities as we work to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment for children," Williams said in the release. "They give their time each day to support the students of District 62. We are forever grateful to these innovative leaders.”

The school district serves more than 5,000 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade and more than 600 students ages 3 to 5. 

Principals recognized in October include Julie Fogarty, Algonquin Middle School principal; Jennifer Rosenzweig, Algonquin Middle School assistant principal; John Swanson, Chippewa Middle School principal; Juliana Vissering, Chippewa Middle School assistant principal; Kelly Krueger, Central Elementary School principal; Colleen White, Cumberland Elementary School principal; Ania Figueroa, Forest Elementary School interim principal; Michael Amadei, Iroquois Community School principal; Denise Fernandez, North Elementary School principal; Jennifer Suarez Bautista, Orchard Place Elementary School principal; Greg Schneider, Orchard Place Elementary School interim principal; Guillermo Heredia, Plainfield Elementary School principal; Kristin Jares, South Elementary School principal; Brad Stein, Terrace Elementary School principal.
