Hanover Park FD responds to 115 fires in 2016

Hanover Park Fire Department responded to 341 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the North Cook News.

The calls in Hanover Park included 115 fires - 86 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 17 other fires. The fire department also responded to four calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $831,250 in fire loss - or about $7,228 per fire.

The department also received 226 false calls, including three malicious calls and 223 other false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, three fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents and five were injured in non fire-related incidents.
