Land Use Variation for a Kennel
Approved
Mike Mathys, architect for the project, said they are requesting a Land Use Variation to allow a kennel in a business district, a variation to reduce the number of parking spaces, a variation to reduce the set back on the east side and a variation to allow an AC unit to be 46 feet from the east side lot line. The facility currently has boarding services, but the plan moves them into the proposed addition which will result in the same number of kennels, but improve the space for the animals.
Trustee Scaletta asked if the new addition expands the building to provide better boarding spaces with run style kennels. Mr. Mathys said the kennels will have more room and the addition allows for an improved treatment facility with new surgical space. They have not applied for the Building Code Review Board variation yet.
Trustee Rosenberg asked if there will there be more outdoor space. Mr. Mathys said there is no outdoor facility. Dogs are walked outside on a leash. There are no plans for a generator at this time.
There have been no objections from the neighbors. Trustee Scaletta said no one will be negatively impacted by this petition.
Trustee John Scaletta moved to approve. Trustee Mike Sidor Seconded the Motion.
