Park Ridge recently announced that police units responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-11 located at 814 Higgins on Jan. 7.

The call came in at 3:34 a.m. According to initial allegations, a BMW 7 series of lighter color with no rear registration pulled into store’s parking lot. Three male suspects got out of the car and entered the store with faces covered. One suspect jumped the counter while the other two went around; one of them hit the clerk in the face with a black handgun.

The suspects stole an undisclosed sum of money and exited the store. They got back in their vehicle and fled the scene.

The city noted that the clerk was not seriously injured and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
