District 28 business coalition endorses Thillens

Mel Thillens, Republican candidate for the District 28 state Senate seat, recently received the endorsement of a regional coalition of 10 small-business owners.

“It’s an honor to have so many local business owners supporting my campaign for state senate,” Thillens said. “Like me, they know how difficult it is to operate a business in Illinois. We need more people in Springfield that know what it means to have families relying on them to make good decisions and balance a budget.”

Thillens’ business savvy is deeply rooted in Illinois, with his leadership as vice president of Thillens Inc., his family-owned armored-car delivery firm.

Members of Thillens’ new coalition represent a wide range of regional services. These are the members of the coalition. The list includes the businesses' respective owners unless otherwise specified: Mike Bertsche, president/CEO of Camcraft Inc.; Joe Campagna, Grant Merchant Services; Matt Coyne, E.J. Coyne & Company; Frank Guerino, president/CEO of Millennium Bank; Ken Jarosch, Jarosch Bakery; Dr. Daniel Press, director of North Suburban Vision Consultants; Alex Prochno, Addison Building Materials; Christine Prochno, Curves; Eric Nelson, Nelson Automotive; and Tom Zimmerman of Terra Consulting Group Ltd.

“We can’t afford to keep losing people and businesses because of failed leadership,” Thillens said. “As a state senator, I will fight to make sure Illinois is a place where businesses want to start and expand.”

Thillens also has received the endorsement of several industry entities, including the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Associated Builders & Contractors, and the Technology & Manufacturing Association.
