Park Ridge Animal Commission to discuss dog-bite incident at meeting

The City of Park Ridge Animal Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22.

The Park Ridge Animal Commission consists of three citizen members who serve overlapping three-year terms. Its objective is to make determinations regarding whether a particular animal is a dangerous animal or at-risk animal, as defined in the Park Ridge Municipal Code. The commission meets as needed.

600 block of Ottawa, sidewalk, 06/9/16 Thursday 0955 hrs.

The victim was walking on the sidewalk with his wife when the offending dog extended on his extendable leash and wrapped the extendable leash around the ankles of the victim and his wife as they stood in the parkway. The dog began to jump and bit the victim on his left arm, causing a laceration. The victim did not immediately seek treatment, but intended to seek treatment.

B. Review Case # 16-01816

1500 block of S. Ashland, sidewalk, 07/01/16 Friday 1731 hrs.

The victim was jogging and the offending dog exited his yard through an open gate and ran at the victim and bit her in the left thigh. Park Ridge Fire Department transported the victim to LGH.
