Elgin Committee of the Whole meeting focuses on presentations, requests

Members of the Elgin Committee of the Whole met at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22.

The Elgin Committee of the Whole is a less formal meeting of the City Council, which gives members an opportunity to discuss items and ask questions. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, at the Robert Gilliam Municipal Complex, 150 Dexter Court.

A. Consideration of Renewal of a Property Insurance Program for the Period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 ($230,444) (Please reference Other Business Item 2)

Objective: Protect the city's financial resources and provide business interruption insurance.

B. Presentation by Julia McClendon, Chief Executive Officer of the YWCA

Objective: Ms. McClendon will be sharing with the council and community the projects the YWCA has performed within Elgin.

C. Consideration of Designation of Trout Park River’s Edge as an Illinois Land and Water

Reserve (Item must be removed from the Table) (No cost to the City)

Objective: Protect the natural resources of Trout Park River’s Edge.
