Groot's services will begin on Monday, May 2, in Park Ridge.

The new refuse collection company, Groot Industries, will be begin trash pickup on Monday, May 2, in the City of Park Ridge.

New 95-gallon refuse and 65-gallon recycling carts will be delivered during the week of April 25. The new carts will be the same size as the old carts; residents who previously ordered smaller carts do not have to contact Groot. In addition, residents who bought a yard waste cart can continue to use the same cart.

The old carts will be picked up by Republic Services (ARC) after the regular refuse collection during the week of April 25. After the refuse has been picked up, simply leave the empty carts at the curb or in the alley. All carts should be picked up by May 7. If the old cart is not picked up, call Republic Services at 847-981-0091.

Residents will receive a brochure in the mail in April explaining Groot's collection services. To view the brochure, click here. The collection days will remain the same: place carts outside by 6:30 a.m. on collection day. Missed pickups and questions may be directed to Groot at 800-244-1977 or to the city at 847-318-5227/5228 starting May 1.
