Schaumburg Cultural Commission meets to hear updates on upcoming events

Reduced Shakespeare Company to perform "The Complete History of Comedy" on April 3.

The Schaumburg Cultural Commission heard updates on upcoming events, including the Reduced Shakespeare Company performance, at its March 28 meeting.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company will perform "The Complete History of Comedy (abridged)" at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at the Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court. The tickets for the fast-paced comedy are available online at www.prairiecenter.org or 847-895-3600. Tickets are $38. Senior and student tickets are $36.

The commission also heard reports on the Prairie Arts Festival and Plein Air. The Prairie Arts Festival will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 28 and 29. The 29th annual event will be outdoors at the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Court. The festival features art, children's art activities, entertainment and food trucks. Admission and parking are free. Coinciding with the festivities, the Prairie Plein Air competition and show will be held in the Herb Aigner Gallery from May 18 to June 30 at the Prairie Center for the Arts. The commission also heard reports on the Schaumburg Youth Programs, the various cultural events held recently in Schaumburg and activities of the Prairie Center Arts Foundation.
