A resolution objecting to the map amendment application with the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals will be presented to the Park Ridge City Council at its meeting tonight.
The council will meet at 7 p.m. today, March 21, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 505 Butler Place.
The applicant is seeking to reclassify 10 Higgins Road in Norwood Township from R-5 Single Family Residential to I-1 Restricted Industrial District. Because the property is bordered on the north and west by Park Ridge and is owned by the same entity as the adjacent property located within the city, which is also zoned as R-1 Single Family Residential, the council objects to the zoning change. The county's code states that if the nearest municipality objects, the zoning change will require a three-quarters majority vote by the County Zoning Board of Appeals to pass the map amendment.
The council will also hear first readings on map amendments for 1200 Elm St. and 622 N. Prospect Ave. and a special use for an assisted living facility at 510 Busse Highway. It will also hear the final reading for a health and fitness center at 110 N. Northwest Highway.
In addition to the zoning appeals, the council will review the lease agreement between Uptown Station LLC and Pure Barre, in addition to the contracts with Trees "R" Us Inc. and Steve Piper & Sons Inc. for tree and stump removal.
