The final public hearing on the fiscal year 2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program was held at the Elgin City Council meeting on March 16.

The council heard public comments on the Annual Action Plan before authorizing city staff to complete the application for funding.

The petition regarding a conditional use permit for an automated car wash at 297 S. McLean Blvd. was heard and considered by the council. The ordinances granting conditional use permits at 75 Market St. for a church in Suite 20 and a driving school classroom in Suite 2 were also on the agenda for approval. Additionally, the council heard a request for approval of the final plat on the subdivision of Fox River Business Center, South Unit 1, at 200 Airport Road.

Finally, the council reviewed and discussed the resolution authorizing an agreement with WBK Engineering LLC regarding services connected to the street and infrastructure restoration necessitated by underground utility repairs. A third amendment to the redevelopment agreement with Capstone Development Group LLC was also heard and discussed.

The next Elgin City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13.
