The FY 2017 budget was recently reviewed by the Chicago Executive Airport board of directors.

The Chicago Executive Airport board of directors reviewed the resolution recommending approval of the fiscal year 2017 budget at its March 14 meeting.

The board members represent the interests of the City of Prospect Heights and the Village of Wheeling. Both municipalities appoint directors to the board.

The board also reviewed resolutions approving a purchasing policy and vehicle replacement policy for the airport. Lease amendments for Signature Flight Support regarding Hangars 15 and 16 were also heard and discussed. The lease amendments will be subject to final review and approval by the council before final approval and implementation.

A presentation on the master plan was given by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly. A master plan for an airport is required by the FAA. The plan looks at the airport, safety, the communities it serves and how it functions as part of the national aviation system. Generally, the plan is reviewed and updated every five years. Phase one of the Chicago Executive Airport's Master Plan update was completed in May 2015 and can be viewed online via the airport's website.

During the meeting, the board heard reports from officers and comments from the public. Public comments must pertain to airport-related topics and are limited to five minutes.
