The Mount Prospect village board will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday to introduce the Fire Department's new chief and appointees to the board.
The Fire Department's Chief Brian Lambel; Deputy Fire Chief John Dolan; and Lieutenants Todd Novak, Richard Schwegler, Thomas Wang and Matthew Woleben will be presented to the board. Robert McKillop, who served on the board of Fire and Police Commissioners from 2000 to 2008, will also be acknowledged.
After hearing comments from the public and dispensing with the consent agenda, the board will discuss improvements to the Village Hall workout area. The board had deferred the motion at the March 1 meeting to allow staff more time to compile additional information on the cost of the project.
The board will also hear first readings on annexing the Lynn Court townhomes and 1200 Dempster St., variances allowing a drive-through for Andy's Frozen Custard at 205 E. Rand Road and a conditional use permit for an indoor ice arena at 1501 Feehanville Drive. The ice arena will include two skating rinks.
Also under new business, the board will consider an intergovernmental agreement with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC). The agreement allows MWRDGC to distribute rain barrels to residents, which capture rain from roof downspouts for use in the garden.
The board will also consider two motions for bids: replacing sidewalks that do not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ACA) through the Community Development Block Grant sidewalk program and the 2016 street resurfacing program.
