Two applicants for the Park Ridge Historic Preservation Commission will be interviewed by the mayor's advisory board at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 16.
The board will meet in the Finance Conference Room at City Hall, 505 Butler Place.
Sharon Bollinger and Joan Mattingly have applied for the volunteer positions on the Historic Preservation Commission. There are currently two vacant positions on the commission.
The commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding historic landmarks and historic districts. The commission is also responsible for issuing Certificates of Appropriateness for a variety of renovation, restoration and construction projects.
Bollinger, a retired history professor, brings a knowledge of history and historic preservation to the table. She has a Master of Arts in History from University of San Diego and is working on a Master of Public Administration. Additionally, she volunteers at the Center of Concern.
Mattingly is a licensed architect with an interest in Park Ridge history. She has a degree in political science from Barat College and post-graduate work at University of Illinois Chicago and at Catholic Theological Union. She is currently a member of the Park Ridge Youth Commission.
