Elgin Cultural Arts Commission will meet Monday.

TalentFest 2016 and the Fringe Festival will be discussed at the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission (CAC) meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in City Hall.

The annual talent show, TalentFest 2016, will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way. The top two acts from each of the local high schools will perform on the main stage. The audience will vote for the best act during intermission. Admission is $5 per person.

The 3rd annual Elgin Fringe Festival, a four-day event from Sept. 15 through 18 in downtown Elgin, is also on the agenda. Performing arts, film, music and visual arts are all part of the Fringe Festival experience. Artist applications are now available at www.elignfringefestival.com

The commission will also review the updated logo and layout for the Art Showcase. Updates on the Riverwalk Sculpture Project, Summer Theater and the Organizational Grant will also be presented to the commission. The commission is also working on a website for the CAC, which will be separate from the city website.
