The Village of Wilmette board of trustees will honor the Loyola Academy Ramblers football team with a proclamation at its 7:30 p.m. meeting tomorrow, Feb. 23.
The team won the Illinois State Championship with a 41-0 shutout on Nov. 28.
The board will also hear a request for an executive session. The closed session may be held to discuss the sale or lease of real estate. A closed meeting is permissible for this purpose, per Section 2 (c) (6) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
After dispensing with the consent agenda and reports, the board intends to hold a discussion regarding short-term rentals, such as with Airbnb. The board will review regulations that were previously the responsibility of the Land Use Committee. The Land Use Committee held an extensive discussion on short-term rental regulations at its meeting on Sept. 21, after several residents expressed concern about the traffic in and out of the rentals and the overall effect on the neighborhood. The board may take action on the Land Use Committee's findings and recommendations.
