City Council will hold a public hearing at its 7 p.m. meeting on Tuesday night.
The public hearing for the 2016 appropriation ordinance will be held at the Des Plaines City Council meeting on Tuesday evening.
The council will meet at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16 in Room 102 of City Hall.
After the council reviews, discusses and hears public comment on the ordinance, the public hearing will be closed. The ordinance is currently under the Consent Agenda for adoption. Unless an alderman or member of the public asks for further discussion, it will be passed in one vote with the other Consent Agenda items.
The council will convene as a committee of the whole after voting on the agenda. The committee will discuss the agreement with the Park District and Senior Center regarding $50,000 in funding for the Senior Center. The Meals on Wheels funding, for $37,500, will be discussed as a separate item. Public comment will be requested on these and other items discussed by the committee of the whole.
After the City Council is back in session, items that require further action at the meeting will be reported under new business. If immediate action is not necessary, these items will be placed on the Consent Agenda for approval at the next council meeting.
